As always, Spring arrives and we get caught up in the new life springing forth around us. No different at Capon Crossing Farm: we’ve welcomed the arrival of lots of new baby chicks, many of which will be our new laying stock, and some that will be eaten by us as a trial run for raising broilers to sell in our market (stay tuned!)
We recently hosted our first wedding in the barn! It was a beautiful day, and the bride and groom both described the occasion as “perfect”. They brought a whole team to decorate, and we couldn’t believe the transformation our barn underwent! It looked very elegant in their yellow and gray color scheme.
We are offering some produce this year (currently selling strawberries, kale, lettuce, onions, and potatoes) but are cutting back slightly for the season as we redesign the garden spaces around the barn and decide what our produce options will look like in the future.
Our monthly Bluegrass in the Barn show is this Saturday, June 21st, featuring Bud’s Collective. Show starts at 7:30, doors open at 7:00pm. Come and congratulate our bass player, Cody! He and his longtime girlfriend Anna were married this past weekend, June 14th!

The new Mr. and Mrs. Brown with the guys from Lonesome Highway. Congratulations, you two! We are so excited for you!
Every Friday, from 5:00pm-6:30pm, Elli teaches a beginner/intermediate yoga class in the barn. If you are new to yoga, but are interested in trying it out, this is a great class because it is easy to modify for beginners. It still offers a challenge to those experienced with yoga, though. $5.00/person. A great way to relax into the weekend!
As always, we are selling our delicious grass-fed beef in our market. We are also currently offering incredible, sustainably-raised, pastured ground lamb from Taproot Farm. They are some great people from Capon Bridge, offering great farm products.
Stop by to see us anytime! Someone will always come out to help you in the market!
